Have you been wondering why some of your friends, who are older than you, look much younger than you? Do you want to extend the period of your youthful looks and the glow in your skin for as long as possible? Forget about those expensive surgeries and procedures, cosmetics and products you have been enticed into buying. Most of these anti-aging products address aging from the outside, using things like lotions and potions, and botox and plastic surgery. The good news is that there are lots of natural ways to keep or restore the elasticity in your skin so that those wrinkles do not appear. I will reveal to you the 14 easy anti-aging tips to look and stay young, the simple and natural way. It has worked for me and will definitely work for you too.

Understanding the SKIN

The SKIN is the largest organ in your body. Ninety-five percent of the top layer of your skin cells (the epidermis) work to make new cells, and five percent of the cells make melanin, which gives skin its colour. Every minute, you shed about 30,000 dead skin cells off the surface of your skin to enable new skin cells to be replaced. As you age, turnover of new skin cells may decrease slightly. Our skin cells also weather a lot of abuse, from the harmful effects of the environment to modern lifestyle factors. In the quest for a youthful glow of your skin, you need to counter these negative factors and to reactivate the turnover of your skin cells. These useful tips below will show you the way to do it.

14 Natural Anti-Aging Tips

These are the 14 easy, simple and natural anti-aging tips to look and stay.

Tip #1 Drink lots of WATER to Hydrate Your SkinTissues

Drink lots of water, at least 8 glasses (equivalent to a volume of 1 to 1.5 liters) each day. It is especially good for your skin as water hydrates your body tissues, allows the vital nutrients necessary to glow your skin to reach the skin cells, and flushes out toxins which can damage your skin. Drinking mineral water and natural fruit juices are good for health, but avoid too much black coffee and tea.

Tip #2 Regular EXERCISE

Exercise regularly to keep your muscles, heart and joints strong. This helps to increase the blood flow which keeps your body well oxygenated, alleviates stress which causes wrinkles, and maintains good posture, even if it's just a short walk in the morning or evening each day. Sweating helps to eliminate bacteria, dirt and toxins within the pores of your body. Some of us may have illnesses that may prohibit us from performing some forms of exercises, but just moving a bit more, like walking up or down the stairs if your physical condition allows this, can make a world of difference to our body, and it will also help you sleep better and longer.

Tip #3 Well-Balanced DIET

You must eat a regular diet which is healthy, nutritious, well-balanced, and with a high fiber content (e.g. by including oats), but low in sugar and fat content. Eat a lot of fresh food, fruits and leafy vegetables. It is recommended that you refrain from eating fast food and food with additives, and minimise eating meats. Try to avoid skipping meals or having an erratic meals schedule. Include foods that contain large amounts of antioxidants (and vitamins), e.g. beans, nuts, berries, and prunes. A healthy breakfast should not be missed.

Tip #4 Sufficient SLEEP

You need to have sufficient sleep for a minimum of seven to eight hours a day. Growth hormones are secreted while you are sleeping, and this will allow the cells in your body to grow properly and repair themselves.

Tip #5 RELAX & Alleviate STRESS

Don't forget the "3 Eights" rule: Each day you should have an average of 8 hours of work, 8 hours of sleep and 8 hours of relaxation. Stress affects your whole body physically, contributing to aging frown lines on your face and increasing the speed of the aging process. You will also tend to be unhappy and this leads to more health problems. Prevent high blood pressure, and reduce your cholesterol levels and salt (or sodium) intake. There are many different ways to relax and alleviate stress. Plan your activities well and be organized so as to avoid problems that lead to stress, for example you can note important things down on a piece of paper or notebook, instead of remembering them in your head. Listening to music is extremely beneficial as this will slow your breathing, and lower your heart rate and blood pressure. Exercise is also a great stress reducer.

Tip #6 Protect from the SUN

Minimize your exposure to the sun by trying to stay out of the sun at mid-day, whenever possible. When you have to be outdoors and exposed to the sun, apply sun screens, or use a hat or umbrella for protection. Long exposure to the sun, with its Ultra Violet (UV) radiation, damages the DNA of your skin cells, and can cause freckles, age spots, wrinkles or skin cancer.

Tip #7 Stop SMOKING, Moderate DRINKING

Smoking should be stopped because it causes less blood and oxygen from getting to your skin, and a large part of the toxins (nicotine) from smoking are being eliminated through the skin, leaving it dehydrated with wrinkles. Smoking damages both inside and outside of your body. Pursing your lips while smoking the cigarette hastens the formation of fine vertical wrinkle lines around your mouth. Alcohol drinking should be in moderate quantities, unless there is strict recommendation against it from your doctor, as it will dehydrate your skin, making it dry with wrinkles.

Tip #8 Keep Your BRAIN ACTIVE Every Day

Keep your brain mentally active every day by performing at least simple mental activities. However these activities must be those that you enjoy doing e.g. reading the newspaper, doing your hobby like chess and crosswords, and continiuing to learn new things. Avoid doing activities that you do not enjoy doing, as this will add stress to your body.

Tip #9 Remain ACTIVE

Always find something to do or learn each day to keep your body and mind active. One wrong attitude for a lot of people who has retired or is getting older is to want to do nothing. By being more active, the better you will age because you will build muscles and strengthen the bones.

Tip #10 Control Your FACIAL EXPRESSIONS

Each time you use a facial muscle to make a facial expression, a groove forms under the skin. If these facial movements are done repeatedly, it will lead to permanent fine lines and wrinkles on the face. So try to have less of an exaggerated look when you laugh or make an exaggerated facial expression. Learn to relax your muscles often, and you can do facial massage whilst cleansing your face at night.

Tip #11 Maintain Ideal WEIGHT

Maintain an ideal weight, and don't overeat so that you will remain youthful-looking. Being overweight or obese increases your risk of developing heart diseases, type 2 diabetes, strokes and cancer. By being twenty percent over-weight, for example, this can cause the death rate to increase sharply. However, men and women should maintain at least some body fat so that their face can get the fullness from fat to maintain a youthful look.

Tip #12 Think POSITIVE

You must always have a positive mental attitude or outlook. This can dramatically slow down the aging process, as it will elevate your mood and generally color your day with brighter, and more hopeful approaches to the things you do.

Tip #13 Be in a Clean SURROUNDINGS

It is important for our body to be in a clean surroundings or environment. Pollution, radiation and ultraviolet rays are some of the conditions that have negative effects on the body. You just have to keep your environment clean. Visit public parks and gardens with lots of fresh air, for example, during the weekends, so as to remain youthful-looking.

Tip #14 COMMITMENT & ACTION
